All the info you need before playing

When and where can I play badminton in Cambridge?

Upcoming sessions include Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Each session above shows its date, start time, venue and remaining places.

The upcoming sessions take place at Netherhall School Sports Centre, Cherry Hinton Leisure Centre, Netherhall Sports Centre and University of Cambridge Sport. Venues vary by session, so check your chosen event for the address, directions and parking details.

Can I come on my own or as a beginner?

Yes. You do not need to bring a partner or a team. Most people come on their own the first time, and all abilities are welcome. Tell the event lead if you are new: they can explain the format and help you find players at a similar level.

What happens at a casual session?

Start with a short warm-up and rallies, then play friendly doubles with players rotating between games. Cambridge sessions use games to 11 to keep play moving. The focus is on playing sport and socialising, rather than league competition.

What equipment do I need?

Rackets, shuttlecocks, nets and courts are provided. Bring trainers and water; you do not need to buy your own racket to try a session.

How much does it cost? Do I need a membership?

Current listed session prices range from £8.00 to £9.50. Your chosen session shows its price before you book.

No membership is required to book a single session. Optional Casual, Pro and Elite memberships are available for regular players. See current membership plans and benefits before choosing a plan.

Prices and available places vary between sessions; there is no single capacity or price for every Cambridge badminton event.

How do I book a place?

  1. Choose an upcoming session above and check its venue, time, price and available places.
  2. Select Join, then sign in or create an account to complete your booking.
  3. Pay by card, or use eligible credits if you have them. Your booking confirmation includes the session details.

If a session is full, you can join its waiting list. A waiting-list place is not a confirmed booking.
