Our community
Community guidelines
Everyone who comes to a session agrees to these. They are the reason people turn up on their own and stay.
At Social Sport, our mission is to create a fun, welcoming and healthy environment where young professionals can socialise, stay active, and build genuine connections through sport. Our events are not just about playing games – they're about community, inclusivity, and shared experiences. Everyone who attends a session is a vital part of what makes Social Sport special, and we ask all participants to respect and uphold the spirit of the group.
Our core values
- Inclusivity & respect — Social Sport is for everyone, regardless of ability, background, or experience. We expect all participants to be friendly, supportive, and welcoming to others.
- Connection over competition — Our focus is on connecting with others, not winning games. We want everyone to feel comfortable and included, especially first-timers.
- Community-first mentality — The success of Social Sport depends on mutual respect and fair participation. Every session takes time, energy and resources to run, including booking and paying for venues in advance. When members misuse the system, it directly affects the community.
Fair use & integrity
When you sign up for a Social Sport event, you are not just paying for a court or equipment — you're contributing to the overall experience: the welcoming atmosphere, organisation, brand and opportunity to meet others.
Using a membership or booking access privately before, during or after an event rather than signing up and attending the scheduled session undermines the purpose of our events and the trust we place in our members. Similarly, using the Social Sport network for personal gain in any form also goes against our core community values.
Either action, depending on severity, will result first in a warning. If the behaviour continues, a ban from Social Sport may be implemented. Legal action may be taken if the ban does not serve as a sufficient deterrent or actions are seen as being defamatory towards Social Sport. You may dispute any ban or warning by contacting us on our homepage.
This behaviour is not in line with our values and will be treated seriously. It is not simply a technical breach — it's a disruption of the inclusive, respectful, and social spirit we are working hard to build. If you have questions or ever face a situation where you're unsure what's considered acceptable, please reach out. We're always happy to chat.
Good community practice
- Join the WhatsApp group after signing up – it's where we share details and build excitement.
- Introduce yourself and ask any questions.
- Turn up 5 minutes early to meet others and help us start on time.
- Respect the rules, the space, and your fellow players.
- Stay for the optional food & drinks – it's where some of the best connections happen.
- If you would rather not appear in photographs, tell your event lead at the start of the session.
Our promise to you
We'll continue doing everything we can to:
- Keep sessions friendly and welcoming.
- Provide variety through Casual and New Sport Every Week (NSEW) events (p.s. request a sport under Events in the menu above!).
- Listen to your feedback and requests.
- Create an experience that's about people, not just sport.
Thank you for being part of Social Sport and helping shape a community we can all be proud of.
